Anna Bocek
Anna Bocek, born in 1973 in Gdansk, Poland, is a contemporary artist known for her vibrant and emotive paintings. She studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, where she is now a faculty member. Bocek initially started her creative journey in the theatre as a set designer but found herself more intrigued by the human emotions and expressions that existed within the theatrical space. Her work often explores the complexities of human emotions, captured through bold colors and expressive brushstrokes. Did you know? Anna Bocek won the "Shakespearen Set Designer Project" award in 1997. She is not just a painter but also a set designer and a co-founder of the design group Substance.
