Boris Grigoriev
Boris Dmitrievich Grigoriev (1886-1939) was a multifaceted Russian artist, renowned for his portrayal of the Russian landscape and character. Born in Moscow, Grigoriev studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and later in Paris, which greatly influenced his artistic style. He is best known for his contribution to the Russian realist tradition, particularly through his «Faces of Russia» series, where he vividly captured the essence of Russian rural life and its inhabitants. His work is characterized by a blend of realism and modernism, with a distinct use of color and form.
