Chinese calligraphy

Benchmark score:
9.0

As we all know, Midjourney until recently was not that great with writing. Chinese characters are no exception, so the words ‘in style of Chinese calligraphy’ or ‘as Chinese calligraphy’ bring back not just Chinese letters, but entire scrolls with paintings as well as imitation of Chinese characters. It’s still a beautiful style worth seeing! Chinese calligraphy is a revered and ancient form of artistic expression in China, dating back over 3,000 years. This art form is not only a means of communication but also a symbolic representation of the Chinese culture’s spiritual and philosophical depth. It involves the writing of Chinese characters with a brush (or sometimes a carved bamboo or wooden stylus) and ink on paper or silk, turning the written language into a visual art that emphasizes motion, line, and space. Did you know? Chinese calligraphy is deeply rooted in aesthetics, with various styles reflecting the calligrapher’s emotions, artistic sensibility, and the rhythmic flow of their movements. Practicing calligraphy in China is considered a disciplined craft that requires years of study under a master, focusing not only on technique but also on cultivating one’s moral character, concentration, and appreciation for Chinese culture. It’s an art that engages both the mind and body, where the quality of each stroke reflects the calligrapher’s spirit and mental state at the moment of creation. The Midlibrary score is 9/9!
