Henri Rousseau

Benchmark score:
9.0

Henri Rousseau (1844-1910) was a French post-impressionist painter in the Naïve or Primitive manner. Although he had no formal art training, Rousseau became a well-known figure in the avant-garde art world in Paris, particularly admired for his lush and dreamlike jungle scenes, which he painted despite never having left France or seen a jungle firsthand. Did you know? Rousseau’s work is characterized by its high level of detail, vivid colors, and a sense of magical realism. One of his most famous paintings, «The Sleeping Gypsy» (1897), is a fantastical depiction of a lion musing over a sleeping woman on a moonlit night. This painting, like many of his works, captures his imaginative approach to art, blending reality with a dream-like quality that seems to transcend the ordinary. We adore Henri Rousseau and love the way Midjourney delicately treats his style. The Midlibrary score is 9/9!
