Janine Antoni (born 1964 in Freeport, Bahamas) is a contemporary artist whose work blurs the boundaries between performance art, sculpture, and photography. Antoni is renowned for her innovative and often provocative pieces that explore themes of femininity, body, process, and transformation. She employs her own body as a primary tool and medium in her art, engaging in labor-intensive processes to create works that question traditional notions of artistic creation and the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and the viewer. Midjourney can’t decide if she is more of a sculptor, a performance artist or an installation artist, therefore, the benchmark is not consistent, but strangely, it reflects the controversial nature of the artist’s original work. The Midlibrary score is 8/9 (the cat is totally not hers).
