Os Gemeos

Benchmark score:
9.0

This week we will pay close attention to street artists and graffiti artists, represented in Midlibrary. We will start with our favourite duo, Os Gêmeos. Os Gêmeos (Portuguese for «The Twins»), are Brazilian street artists Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo. Born in 1974 in São Paulo, Brazil, the identical twin brothers are known for their large-scale graffiti and street art that features yellow-skinned characters, vibrant scenes, and intricate, dream-like motifs. Their distinctive style blends elements of Brazilian cultural folklore with political commentary and urban mythology. Did you know? Os Gêmeos started painting graffiti in the late 1980s and were initially influenced by the burgeoning hip-hop culture in São Paulo. Their work quickly evolved to incorporate their unique style, characterized by complex layers of color, intricate patterns, and whimsical subjects. The twins are pioneers in the Brazilian street art scene, and their art has helped to transform the urban landscapes not only in Brazil but around the world. We love their style and the way Midjourney sees it, with cute yellow-colored creatures and distinctive street art features. The Midlibrary score is 9/9!
