Stanley Donwood

Benchmark score:
9.0

Upon request from our follower @rmarcon, today’s benchmark is by Stanley Donwood (and it’s connected with one of our benchmark’s characters!) Stanley Donwood, born in 1968 in Essex, England, is an artist and writer best known for his close association with the British band Radiohead, having created all of their album artwork since 1994. His distinctive style, often characterized by apocalyptic and dystopian themes, combines traditional and digital media to create visually compelling and thought-provoking pieces. Donwood’s work with Radiohead, including iconic album covers like ‘OK Computer’, ‘Kid A’, and ‘In Rainbows’, has garnered widespread acclaim for its haunting beauty and intricate detail. Beyond album covers, his artistic repertoire includes screenprints, paintings, and installations, often reflecting his preoccupations with landscape, environmental catastrophe, and political commentary. A really cool and distinctive style, with minimalistic color palette and apocaliptic vibe. 9/9 Midlibrary score!
