About

Francois Schuiten is a Belgian comic book artist and illustrator known for his work in the graphic novel series 'Les Cités Obscures,' which explores intricate and fantastical urban landscapes. His style is characterized by detailed architectural drawings and a fascination with futuristic and surreal environments.

Observations

Across all four views, the style builds vast, impossible urban environments from sharply defined architectural forms, heavy linear contours, and dense repeating details. Strong warm-versus-cool color contrasts, dramatic shadowed arches, and monumental perspective make the scenes feel both richly illustrated and fantastical.
