About

Josh Keyes is an American contemporary artist known for his detailed and surreal depictions of animals and nature. His work often explores themes of environmentalism and the juxtaposition of wildlife with urban settings, creating a narrative that questions the relationship between humans and the natural world.

Observations

This style combines highly detailed, realistic-looking environmental scenes with fantastically oversized animals and incongruous objects. Saturated colors, crisp daylight, strong contrast, and expressive surface texture give the images a vivid, polished illustrative quality while emphasizing dramatic scale and surreal juxtapositions.
