About

Mike Worrall is a contemporary British artist known for his surreal and fantastical paintings that often explore themes of mystery and the subconscious. His work is characterized by intricate details and a unique blend of realism and imagination, drawing inspiration from historical and gothic elements.

Observations

These images use richly textured, painterly realism with densely rendered architecture, clothing, vegetation, and reflective wet surfaces. Restrained dark greens, browns, greys, and selective reds create a brooding cinematic mood, while theatrical figures, uncanny staging, and recurring garden and mansion settings give the scenes a surreal narrative quality.
