ThunderCats

About

ThunderCats is a popular animated television series that originally aired in the 1980s. It follows a group of cat-like humanoid aliens from the planet Thundera, who fight evil forces on their new home, Third Earth. The series is known for its action-packed storylines and memorable characters, such as Lion-O, the leader of the ThunderCats.

Observations

The style combines graphic comic-book construction with visible, directional paint strokes that build fur, hair, musculature, and facial planes. Strong black outlines, flat color blocks, saturated red-blue-orange hues, and sharp light-dark separation give the repeated feline characters an intense heroic fantasy presence.
