About

Wabi-sabi is a Japanese aesthetic concept that embraces imperfection, transience, and simplicity. It finds beauty in the natural cycle of growth and decay, valuing the authenticity of objects that show signs of wear and age. This philosophy is deeply rooted in Zen Buddhism and is often reflected in traditional Japanese art, architecture, and design, emphasizing natural materials and organic forms.

Observations

The style presents carefully arranged ceramic vessels and sparse botanical cuttings as realistic, tactile still lifes. Muted earthy tones, weathered surfaces, deep shadowed backdrops, and directional natural light give the compositions a quiet, moody atmosphere while emphasizing the solid forms and material texture.
