About

Walt Kelly was an American cartoonist best known for creating the comic strip 'Pogo.' His work is celebrated for its wit, political satire, and charming characters, often set in the Okefenokee Swamp. Kelly's illustrations are characterized by their detailed line work and expressive character designs.

Observations

The style uses expressive cartoon characters with thick, lively ink contours, energetic hatching, and selectively applied watercolor-like washes on a warm, aged-paper ground. Across the scenes, exaggerated faces, physical gestures, dense swamp foliage, and humorous animal interactions create a detailed storybook-comic feeling.
