Autumn

About

Autumn is one of the four temperate seasons, marking the transition from summer to winter. It is characterized by the shedding of leaves from deciduous trees, cooler temperatures, and a shift in daylight hours. This season is often associated with harvest festivals, vibrant foliage, and a sense of change and preparation for the colder months ahead.

Observations

Across all four portraits, visible brushwork and layered, textured marks give the faces, hair, and leaves a painterly yet illustrative finish. Saturated autumn oranges dominate against deep teal and black, with expressive close cropping, leaf overlays, and soft atmospheric separation creating a dreamy, dramatic mood.
