Observations

These intimate portraits combine visible painterly texture with softly modeled faces, loose hair, and expressive, slightly melancholic poses. A subdued brown-black palette is punctuated by warm candlelike glows, smoke, and shallow-focus highlights, while distressed vertical marks and dark clothing unify the four images.
