About

Christophe Staelens is a contemporary photographer known for his evocative and atmospheric imagery. His work often explores themes of solitude and introspection, capturing moments that are both haunting and beautiful.

Observations

Across all four images, stark black-and-white landscapes place tiny solitary figures in vast, ominous spaces, with strong vanishing points and monumental skies or trees. Dense clouds, fog, and shafts of backlight create a high-contrast, surreal atmosphere that feels bleak, dramatic, and dreamlike.
