About

Clifford Harper is a British illustrator known for his distinctive graphic style and contributions to various publications. His work often features bold lines and intricate details, capturing both political and fantastical themes. Harper's illustrations have been widely recognized for their unique blend of realism and imagination.

Observations

Across all four renders, the style uses graphic, print-like illustration with heavy contour lines, dense hatching, stippling, and sharply separated blocks of saturated red, blue, cream, and dark green. The scenes are richly packed with symbolic eyes, ravens, monumental landscapes, figures, books, and uncanny architectural or natural forms, giving the compositions a dramatic surreal-fantasy atmosphere.
