About

Cyanotype print is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. It was invented in the 19th century and is known for its distinctive blue color, achieved through a chemical reaction involving iron salts and UV light exposure. This technique was popularized by Anna Atkins , who used it to create botanical prints.

Observations

The style uses a restricted blue-and-cream cyanotype-like palette with stark tonal inversion, grain, distressed paper texture, and ink-like botanical marks. Photographic portrait fragments and delicate grasses or flowers are arranged against broad negative space, creating a layered, dreamlike botanical collage.
