About
Dan Colen is an American artist known for his diverse and provocative works that span painting, sculpture, and installation. Observations
Across all four panels, the style is abstract and intensely painterly, built from thick impasto, scraping, smearing, splattering, and visible directional brushwork. Saturated reds, pinks, yellows, blues, and greens alternate with pale grounds, while diffuse organic shapes and dense pigment clusters create an expressive, surreal sense of motion.
