David Rowe

About

David Rowe is an illustrator known for his distinctive style that blends elements of surrealism and fantasy with a darkly humorous twist. His work often features exaggerated characters and whimsical narratives, creating a unique visual language that is both playful and unsettling.

Observations

Across all four renders, the style combines intensely rendered character portraits with visible directional brushwork, loose sketch lines, scraped textures, and dripping paint. Strong teal, coral, red, and black accents create a vivid, high-contrast surface, while uncanny figures, ravens, smoke-like forms, and distorted facial details give the portraits a dark surreal mood.
