About
Doctor Who is a long-running British science fiction television series that first aired in 1963. It follows the adventures of the Doctor, a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels through time and space in the TARDIS, a time-traveling spaceship that appears from the outside to be a British police box. The series is known for its imaginative storytelling, iconic characters, and its ability to reinvent itself with new actors portraying the Doctor.
Observations
The style combines dense ensemble portraiture with energetic, visibly painted brushwork and a layered collage-like arrangement of figures and small narrative scenes. Strong orange, red, blue, and black contrasts create a dramatic, fantastical atmosphere, while expressive faces and broad strokes give the images an intense illustrated-poster quality.
