About

Federico Babina is an Italian architect and illustrator known for his unique blend of architecture and illustration, often creating works that explore the intersection of these fields. His work is characterized by a playful and imaginative approach, often incorporating elements of surrealism and abstraction.

Observations

The style combines graphic architectural illustration with stark geometric masses, flat cream, red, teal, black, and blue shapes, and strong light-dark separation. Dense structural details, tiny human figures, paper grain, and distressed surfaces give the clean modernist compositions a retro printed-poster character, while improbable scale and isolated objects introduce a surreal edge.
