About

Hermann Rorschach was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, best known for developing the Rorschach inkblot test, a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and analyzed. Born in 1884, Rorschach's work has had a lasting impact on psychology and the study of personality.

Observations

Across all four renders, loose ink and watercolor-like pigment blooms form mirrored, bilateral figures with strong central axes and ambiguous face-like or creature-like shapes. The mostly black, cream, and grey palette is restrained, with red accents in one variation, while pooling, bleeding edges, splatters, and drips preserve a spontaneous, surreal material quality.
