About

Hiroshi Nagai is a Japanese illustrator and artist known for his distinctive style that captures the essence of urban and natural landscapes with a nostalgic and serene quality. His work often features vibrant colors and clean lines, reflecting the influence of 1980s Japanese pop culture and city pop music.

Observations

The style combines crisp geometric architecture and strongly simplified, clean-edged forms with vivid sunset, blue-hour, and neon-lit palettes. Dense city skylines, palms, cars, mountains, and water are rendered as polished retro-futurist illustrations with graphic flat color, deep shadows, and high contrast.
