Observations

This style uses highly detailed black-and-white ink drawing, with fine contour lines, dense crosshatching, and selective gray washes to model faces, hair, clothing, and fur. Strong portrait likenesses are presented against generous white space, combining formal head-and-shoulder studies with an occasional densely arranged cluster of figures.
