John Holcroft

About

John Holcroft is a contemporary British illustrator known for his satirical and thought-provoking works that often comment on modern society and consumerism. His illustrations have been featured in various publications, where he uses a distinctive style to convey complex themes through simple yet impactful imagery.

Observations

The style uses clean, fine outlined drawing with flattened but richly varied color fields, strong geometric cropping, and hard-edged shadows. Dense groups of figures and repeated objects are arranged like editorial vignettes, with a restrained retro palette intensified by grainy printed texture and high contrast.
