About
Memphis design is a postmodern design movement that originated in the 1980s, characterized by its bold colors, geometric shapes, and playful patterns. It was founded by the Italian designer Ettore Sottsass and a group of designers who sought to break away from the minimalism and functionalism of the time. The style is known for its eclectic mix of materials, textures, and forms, often incorporating elements of pop art and art deco.
Observations
Across all four renders, brightly colored geometric objects, furniture, plants, and architectural fragments are arranged as dense sculptural still lifes. Clean graphic shapes and flat color blocking combine with realistic material textures such as terrazzo, ribbing, checkerboard surfaces, and softly rough coatings, producing a playful surreal interior-design aesthetic.
