About
Michael Sowa is a German artist known for his whimsical and surreal paintings, often featuring animals in unusual settings. His work is characterized by a blend of humor and mystery, creating a unique narrative style that has gained international recognition.
Observations
The style is filmic and naturalistic, using deep green-black shadows, muted dusk colors, isolated warm lights, and occasional silhouetted figures or animals. Mist, reflective water, wooded settings, and carefully staged encounters create a quiet, dreamlike sense of mystery across all four scenes.
