Pablo Lobato

About

Pablo Lobato is an Argentine illustrator known for his distinctive and bold artistic style. His work often features geometric shapes and vibrant colors, drawing inspiration from modernist and pop art movements. Lobato's illustrations are characterized by their playful and imaginative nature, often depicting abstract portraits and mythical figures.

Observations

The style uses graphic, poster-like illustrations built from flat blocks of saturated red, black, cream, and teal, with strong geometric framing and heavy ink-like outlines. Repeated portraits, figures, and black cats are rendered with angular simplified forms, selective crosshatched detail, and a distressed grain that gives the otherwise clean shapes a vintage printed feel.
