About

Peter Callesen is a Danish artist known for his intricate paper sculptures and installations. His work often explores themes of fragility and transformation, using paper as a primary medium to create delicate and detailed pieces that challenge perceptions of materiality and space.

Observations

The style consistently transforms books, walls, clouds, plants, and human figures into highly detailed sculptural tableaux with a pale, restrained palette. Surreal architectural ruptures and miniature narrative figures create an otherworldly sense of scale, while generous empty backgrounds and softly controlled lighting keep the compositions refined and contemplative.
