Psycho-Pass

About

Psycho-Pass is a Japanese anime television series that first aired in 2012. Set in a dystopian future, the series explores themes of justice and the role of technology in society, focusing on a system that measures the mental state of citizens to predict criminal intent. It has gained a significant following for its deep narrative and complex characters, contributing to the cyberpunk genre.

Observations

The style uses highly detailed comic-like character illustration, with fine ink contours, sharp cel-shaded planes, expressive faces, and dramatic foreshortened poses. Cool cyan-blue illumination, deep blacks, and bright highlights create a high-contrast futuristic urban atmosphere across the character-heavy compositions.
