About

Raoul De Keyser is a Belgian painter known for his abstract and minimalist works that often explore the interplay of color and form. His art is characterized by a subtle yet expressive use of color and a focus on the simplicity of shapes and lines, reflecting a deep engagement with the materiality of painting.

Observations

Across all four works, broad blocks of saturated color are built up with visible paint ridges and directional brushwork. Recognizable figures, coastlines, water, foliage, and architectural views are simplified into angular, graphic shapes, with strong dark accents and an energetic hand-painted surface.
