Ryan Hewett

About

Ryan Hewett is a contemporary South African artist known for his expressive and abstract portraiture. His work often explores themes of identity and emotion, using a distinctive style that combines bold colors and fragmented forms.

Observations

Across all four portraits, thickly built paint and clearly directional strokes break faces and clothing into angular, energetic planes. The style combines recognizable close-up character studies with vivid coral, turquoise, blue, and black accents, leaving rough, partially unfinished edges and visible surface texture.
