Sanyu's work is characterized by its simplicity, elegance, and a distinct use of line and color, often focusing on still lifes and nudes. His art reflects a synthesis of traditional Chinese aesthetics with modernist influences, making him a significant figure in the cross-cultural art movement of the early 20th century.
Observations
Across all four renders, simplified figures, plants, flowers, and a tree are painted with rough visible brush texture, strong black contours, and selectively flat color fields. Saturated coral-red grounds, dark silhouettes, elongated anatomy, and unusual scale relationships create an expressive, graphic, slightly surreal style.
