About

Valerie Hegarty is an American contemporary artist known for her site-specific installations that often explore themes of decay and transformation. Her work frequently incorporates elements of nature and history, creating immersive environments that challenge perceptions of time and space.

Observations

The style presents highly detailed, sculptural assemblages in which decayed architectural fragments, frames, trees, and abundant vegetation merge into fantastical still-life installations. Soft, subdued natural colors, pale gallery-like backgrounds, and careful realism give the scenes a dreamy, museum-diorama quality.
