About
Valerio Olgiati is a Swiss architect known for his minimalist and conceptual designs. His work often emphasizes the use of light, space, and form to create contemplative and introspective environments. Olgiati's architectural style is characterized by clean lines, geometric forms, and a focus on materiality, often drawing from modernist influences.
Observations
The style presents monumental, geometric architectural spaces with massive concrete planes, deep recesses, stairways, and carefully framed openings. Restrained earth-toned materials are shaped by strong directional sunlight and dense shadow, while tiny solitary figures emphasize the scale and cinematic, contemplative atmosphere.
