Observations

The style combines visibly broad, directional paint strokes with richly layered, expressive rendering of faces, clothing, rock, and snow. Saturated reds, cobalt blues, and orange-gold light create strong contrast, while recurring monumental landscapes, solitary travelers, and dramatic portraits give the images a sweeping fantastical atmosphere.
