Arthur Elgort (born 1940) is an American fashion photographer renowned for his innovative and casual approach to fashion photography. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Elgort studied painting at Hunter College before transitioning to photography. He gained prominence in the 1970s, breaking away from the rigid, studio-bound fashion photography of the time by taking models out of the studio and into more natural, real-world settings.
