E. J. Bellocq

E. J. Bellocq was an American photographer known primarily for his evocative portraits of Storyville prostitutes in New Orleans, taken in the early 20th century. His work remained largely obscure until the 1970s when a collection of his glass plate negatives was discovered and subsequently published by photographer Lee Friedlander.
