About
David Choe is an American artist known for his diverse and dynamic style, often blending elements of street art with traditional techniques. His work spans various mediums, including painting, illustration, and graffiti, and he has gained recognition for his bold and expressive approach.
Observations
The style combines highly visible, layered brushwork with energetic drips, scratches, splatters, and outlined marks, making the portraits feel both tactile and emotionally forceful. Saturated reds, oranges, blues, and neutrals create strong contrast, while oversized faces and glimpses of painters in the studio give the compositions a mural-scale, process-focused character.
