About

Joep Bertrams is a Dutch cartoonist known for his political cartoons and illustrations. His work often features sharp satire and commentary on current events, capturing the essence of political figures and societal issues with humor and insight.

Observations

The style uses finely controlled pen-and-ink drawing with dense crosshatching, scratchy contour lines, and selectively muted washes on an aged paper-like ground. It combines expressive caricature, anthropomorphic animals, crowds, monumental architecture, and heightened political-allegorical situations in richly packed scenes.
