About

Matt Furie is an American artist and illustrator known for his unique and whimsical style. He gained widespread recognition for creating the character Pepe the Frog, which became an internet meme. Furie's work often features surreal and humorous elements, blending pop culture with fantasy.

Observations

Across all four paintings, fantastical monster characters are rendered with saturated colors, heavy contour lines, and clearly visible, energetic paint strokes on textured canvas. The expressive faces, exaggerated eyes and mouths, dense imaginative settings, and layered small marks create a playful yet grotesque surreal character-painting style.
