About

Peter Kuper is an American illustrator and cartoonist known for his distinctive style and contributions to various publications, including Mad magazine and The New Yorker. He is recognized for his political and social commentary, often expressed through bold and expressive illustrations.

Observations

The style is a densely packed, highly narrative illustration built from thick black contours, vivid flat-to-lightly textured colors, and an abundance of small visual details. Crowded scenes, dramatic sunbursts and smoke, architectural structures, expressive figures, and symbolic objects are arranged with energetic, almost poster-like geometry across all four images.
