About

Russ Mills is a contemporary British artist known for his dynamic and expressive illustrations that blend traditional and digital techniques. His work often explores themes of identity and emotion, characterized by bold compositions and a distinctive use of color.

Observations

Across all four portraits, the style combines partially recognizable faces with aggressive, visible brushwork, ink-like linework, scratches, and splattered red accents. A restrained black, grey, red, and off-white palette, strong tonal contrast, cropped compositions, and generous blank ground create an intense, fractured atmosphere.
