About

Todd Schorr is an American artist known for his contributions to the pop surrealism movement. His work often features a blend of cartoon-like imagery with surreal and fantastical elements, drawing on influences from pop culture, mythology, and classic illustration. Schorr's art is characterized by its intricate detail, vibrant color palettes, and humorous yet thought-provoking themes.

Observations

The style uses richly layered, visibly painted surfaces with lavish costumes, food, architecture, and animals packed into theatrical tableaux. Saturated reds, greens, and golds, strong light-dark separation, exaggerated expressions, and grotesque fantasy details create an exuberant, ornamental storybook spectacle.
