About

Zentangle is a method of creating images by drawing structured patterns, often referred to as tangles. It was developed by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas as a way to practice mindfulness and relaxation through art. The technique involves using simple, repetitive patterns to form intricate designs, typically in black and white.

Observations

Across all four renders, the style is a dense black-and-white line illustration built from intricate botanical forms, geometric blocks, organic shapes, and repeated decorative motifs. Fine contour lines, crosshatching, stippling, and occasional bold filled areas create richly patterned surfaces with clean graphic boundaries.
