About

mcbess is a contemporary illustrator and musician known for his distinctive black and white style that combines elements of surrealism and humor. His real-life work often features whimsical characters and intricate details, drawing inspiration from both vintage cartoons and modern pop culture.

Observations

Across all four renders, the style is dense black-and-white illustrative linework with fine contours, cross-like hatching, and strongly controlled areas of solid black. It combines surreal, highly detailed figures and creatures into crowded compositions, spanning tattoos and murals while retaining a graphic ink-and-woodcut character.
