About

Synchromism is an early 20th-century art movement founded by Stanton Macdonald-Wright and Morgan Russell. It focused on the use of color to create form and was one of the first abstract art movements in America. Synchromists believed that color could be used in a way similar to music, creating harmonious compositions that evoke emotions and sensations.

Observations

The style combines intensely saturated neon color with abstract geometric structures, concentric forms, and layered rectangular framing. It shifts between visibly ridged, flowing paint and smooth gradient passages, while luminous atmospheric skies and glowing color transitions give the whole set a dreamlike, expressive energy.
