Short answers about Midlibrary, the styles, your account and membership.

About Midlibrary

Is Midlibrary free?

Yes. Every style, its pictures and its line to copy, every guide and every compilation are free to read and use, with no account. A free account adds one collection of 36 styles; members keep more — see Collections.

Is Midlibrary part of Midjourney?

No. Midlibrary is independent, with no ties to Midjourney — just a love for it. The pictures you make are made in Midjourney, with your own Midjourney plan.

Are the pictures by the artists they are named after?

No. Every picture here is made by our team with Midjourney, from the style’s line and nothing else. It shows what Midjourney does with that name or code — never a real artist’s work.

Can I use Midlibrary’s pictures?

Please ask us first — write to us and say what for. The pictures you make yourself in Midjourney follow Midjourney’s own terms, not ours.

Who makes Midlibrary?

A small team, since 2022. Meet them on Inside Midlibrary.

Using styles

Which Midjourney version do the styles use?

Every picture shows Midjourney V8.2, and every copied line ends in . A style’s page also shows what it looked like in earlier versions, Niji included, wherever we made them — change the version in the line to try one.

Do the styles work in other tools — Flux, GPT Image, Nano Banana?

The lines are written for Midjourney. A named style’s words may still steer another tool somewhat; an SREF code works only in Midjourney.

Why does my picture look different from the style’s pictures?

The style’s pictures show what Midjourney made from the style’s line alone. Your own words add a subject and a scene, and Midjourney never makes the same picture twice. Run it again, or try another style — see From idea to picture.

A style I want isn’t here.

Search also reads a style’s other names and the words for what its pictures show, so try those. If it still isn’t here, write to us and suggest it.

Compilations, Applications and Benchmarks

What is a compilation?

A hand-picked set of styles around one idea — the best of a theme, a medium or a mood — each with its four pictures and the prompts that made them, and often our notes. Every style in one can be saved and copied. All compilations

What are Applications?

On a style’s page, the same style on other subjects — portraits, characters, patterns, a landscape and more — each picture with the whole prompt that made it, so you can see how the style travels before you use it.

What happened to Benchmarks?

ML3’s Benchmarks — nine fixed prompts run through an artist’s style — are now part of Applications, on each style’s own page.

Your account

How do I log in?

With Google, Discord or Patreon, or with your email: we send a 6-digit code and a link. There is no password to remember. The same steps make a new account.

How do I change my email?

In Your profile › Account: type the new address, and we send a code to it to confirm.

How do I delete my account?

In Your profile › Account, choose Delete my account and type DELETE. It deletes your profile and your collections, and can’t be undone.

Who sees my collections?

You choose, per collection: Only me (nobody else can open it), Members (anyone logged in to Midlibrary) or Public (anyone with the link, and shown on your profile).

Who sees my answers to “Help us know you”?

Only Midlibrary. They never show on your profile.

Membership

What do members get?

More room to keep styles: from 6 collections of 36 styles each up to 32 collections of 144 — and the knowledge that Midlibrary keeps going because of them. See the tiers in Your profile › Membership.

How much does it cost?

Explorer $5 a month, Researcher $10, Library Guardian $15, Master Archivist $25 — or a year at once: $60, $100, $145, $240. You pay by card through Stripe, in US dollars. See what each tier holds in Your profile › Membership.

Where do I change my tier?

In Your profile › Membership. Your tier is marked there, and every other tier has its own button.

Can I move to a smaller tier?

Yes, with its button in Your profile › Membership; Stripe settles the difference on your next payment. If you then have more than the smaller tier holds, everything stays — open, share, reorder, remove — but nothing new goes in until you are within it.

How do I cancel?

In Your profile › Membership, choose Manage billing — Stripe’s own page cancels it. Your tier stays until the end of the time you paid for; then you are a Reader again, and everything you made stays.

Membership or Patreon — what’s the difference?

Two ways to support Midlibrary. Membership is paid by card, here. A Patreon pledge gives the patron tier of the same name, which holds more collections; connect Patreon in Your profile › Account so it counts here. Patrons are thanked in the Patrons Hall.
